<silkscreencircle />

Overview

The <silkscreencircle /> element draws a circle on the PCB silkscreen layer. It is most commonly used to mark Pin 1 on IC footprints, outline round components (such as radial electrolytic capacitors, buzzers, or coin-cell holders), or place circular alignment fiducials on the silkscreen.

export default () => (
<board width="10mm" height="8mm">

<smtpad portHints={["1"]} shape="rect" width="1mm" height="0.5mm" pcbX="-1.8mm" pcbY="0.65mm" />
<smtpad portHints={["2"]} shape="rect" width="1mm" height="0.5mm" pcbX="-1.8mm" pcbY="-0.65mm" />
<smtpad portHints={["3"]} shape="rect" width="1mm" height="0.5mm" pcbX="1.8mm" pcbY="-0.65mm" />
<smtpad portHints={["4"]} shape="rect" width="1mm" height="0.5mm" pcbX="1.8mm" pcbY="0.65mm" />
<silkscreenrect pcbX={0} pcbY={0} width="2.2mm" height="2.4mm" strokeWidth="0.12mm" />

Properties

PropertyTypeDefaultDescription
pcbXlength0X coordinate of the circle center on the PCB silkscreen
pcbYlength0Y coordinate of the circle center on the PCB silkscreen
radiuslengthrequiredRadius of the silkscreen circle
strokeWidthlength"0.1mm"Line thickness of the circle outline
isFilledbooleanfalseWhen true, renders a solid filled silkscreen dot
isStrokeDashedbooleanfalseWhen true, renders the circle outline with a dashed stroke

Outlined vs. Filled Circles

Set isFilled to create a solid Pin 1 indicator dot, or omit isFilled and adjust strokeWidth to draw a circular component body outline:

export default () => (
<board width="14mm" height="8mm">
<footprint>
<silkscreencircle pcbX={-3} pcbY={0} radius="2mm" strokeWidth="0.2mm" />
<silkscreencircle pcbX={3} pcbY={0} radius="1.2mm" isFilled />
</footprint>
</board>
